Out of 960 screenplays, My Ancestors’ Song made it to the SEMIFINALS of the Outstanding Screenplays Shorts Competition!

My Ancestors’ Song is a short drama screenplay written by Melissa Mars. It tells the poignant story of Nayla Bel, an Algerian-French actress trying to make it in Hollywood while struggling to reconcile with her heritage. The screenplay already garnered a Best Screenplay Award at Bridgeport Film Festival 2022 and multiple accolades: Hollyshorts 2022 Semi-finalist, Screecraft Film Fund 2022 Quarter Finalist, and even made it to the top Coverfly’s Red List for the month of January 2023!
