What is a Fiscal Sponsor?
Stowe Story Labs is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering screenwriters, filmmakers, and creative producers from around the world. Through mentorship with seasoned industry professionals, they help participants develop their skills, projects, and networks within a supportive and collaborative artistic community.
Their fiscal sponsorship program is designed to support emerging artists in advancing their work, honing their craft, and raising their profiles in the competitive film industry. Selected projects, like ours, benefit from their sponsorship, which allows them to accept tax-deductible donations to fund production.
Here’s how it works: Donations are made to Stowe Story Labs, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, making them tax-deductible where legally permitted. Stowe retains a modest administrative fee (up to 9.5%) to manage and process donations, while the remaining funds directly support the production of the sponsored film.
